CUSTOM CABINET REPLACEMENT

I would love to work with Sophia again as she is talented, patient, budget wise and is easy to work with.

I was thrilled to get a high recommendation of Sophia from Xpressive Interiors.  I was looking to have cabinets doors put on a cabinet that housed a wine refrigerator that was no longer work or the size available to fit the cabinet.  Sophia was simply amazing. We discussed what I wanted and she had great ideas.  We went with adding doors and pull out shelves to match my other cabinets. The finished cabinet looks outstanding. I would love to work with Sophia again as she is talented, patient, budget wise and is easy to work with.  She met all my expectations.  I highly recommend her.

MASTER BATH

Not only did Sophia plan my space with my specific needs in mind but she also is knowledgeable in the concepts of design, construction, building standards and codes.

My experience with Sophia Galata of Xpressive Interiors was fun and educational. She assessed what I needed, what I wanted and what was possible.  We considered what would be safe, functional, ergonomic, comfortable, and attractive for my bathroom. Not only did she plan my space with my specific needs in mind but she also is knowledgeable in the concepts of design, construction, building standards and codes. Sophia grew up helping her carpenter dad and she is not afraid to pick up a hammer, a paintbrush or a phone if urgency demands it.

Sophia found and dealt with numerous contractors and tradesmen. Electricians, carpenters, dry wallers, plumbers, tile and countertop installers. She knew what to ask sales people when shopping for a window. She advised me on lighting shopping and worked gracefully with Inspectors. I only had to be involved if I wanted to be. What a relief! She was on top of her schedule and handled contractors with assertiveness and grace if there were any snags or problems.

Sophia was a great help in selecting plumbing fixtures and my one-machine washer/dryer combo. She could point out things I missed when considering any purchase. Sophia inspected all shipments and if a problem arose she handled all communication and replacement/shipping details.

I am thrilled with my remodeled bathroom. Sophia redesigned the space to meet my handicap requirements. I have arthritis and balance issues. We removed a jetted tub that I couldn’t get out of anymore and put in a “roll-in” shower and a bench. We moved my laundry closet door and put in a one-machine washer/dryer. It washes and dries in the same large drum so I never have to lift wet laundry to the dryer. She widened my bathroom door and changed it to a pocket door in case I need wheel chair access in the future. I love my 2 flat-bottom oval sinks (now I can set a glass or bottle in the sink without it tipping over) and my new anti-microbial quartz countertops. Don’t get me started on the tile and how skillfully it was installed. Perfection. 

I found Sophia to be creative, talented, skilled, knowledgeable, patient, calm, mindful of my budget and trustworthy. Eventually she will be taking on my kitchen remodel. Working with Sophia was a great experience. I highly recommend her.

BAKERY

Before finding Sophia, we were looking to find someone to just reface our display cabinets (at our bakery) and add a sneeze guard. When talking with her, she opened our eyes to so much more. She has the ability to envision spaces and bring them to life at a whole new level, within a very reasonable budget.

She first asks for your budget, and she plans out what she is able to do with it. She puts together diagrams and shows you samples of the type of materials she is interested in using. Once she gets your approval, the transformation begins. For us, she had to squeeze as much as she could in one day per week (our bakery is closed on Mondays). So, our lobby slowly transformed from week to week. It was exciting to come back to work each Tuesday and see the progress unfold. Each little detail brought happiness to our eyes. The end result was amazing! Sophia and her Dad (he is a carpenter) are truly talented individuals. I can't thank them enough for all they have done!!

BACKYARD REMODEL

The newly designed backyard has now allowed us to move many of our functions from the indoor to the outdoor setting.

After living in our house for numerous years, the one part of the house that was rather neglected was our backyard. Though it had a good amount of space, it always needed work and I never knew exactly what to do.

After meeting Sophia, I was impressed and excited on what the backyard could turn out to be. She shared ideas on how we could design and revamp the the backyard into a beautiful and functional outdoor living space. She asked for our color and design preferences, as well as a lot of questions about who we were, our daily lives and what we wanted our of final space.

We have a large family and often have family gathering. The newly designed backyard has now allowed us to move many of our functions from the indoor to the outdoor setting. Everyone loves it! Sophia created a kids area with chalkboards and games to keep the kids engaged while the adults are able to lounge near the custom mage fireplace! Sophia even took the time to make handmade stepping stones with the kids that they got to decorate, so they really connected with their special part of the backyard!

The backyard is now a relaxing, beautiful and most of all functional space that my family will get to enjoy for many years to come. Thank you Xpressive Interiors!

REMODEL

I feel like the entire room is so perfect for hosting now, I simply love having it and love being in that room!

Sophia is the most talented, creative, responsive designer I have ever met. She was professional and the net result is that a room in my home I used to avoid like the plague is now beautiful and inviting and inspiring. I call it "My Room." My husband laughs. Sophia took the time to understand me and my preferences. She kept me in the loop in the beginning, showing me layout possibilities and helping me select colors. She added her own custom work to the sconces we selected and did hand-beading work for the sconces and window coverings. She actually hand-designed an entire shelving unit around my existing wine cooler! it's amazing - I feel like the entire room is so perfect for hosting now, I simply love having it and love being in that room! Once she got to know me and understand what we were looking for she took action to complete the project. She made choices on my behalf that I absolutely love, had the entire project completed while we were away, and all (within 10%) within budget. After she did the in-home design work I asked her to do some decor for my destination wedding. In all honesty, what Sophia was able to do for me at my wedding, which was only requested last minute, became the design element that made the entire event. She put together an interactive display for my guests that was gorgeous, she worked with my wedding planner to make it happen and was a pleasure to work with through the entire process. Sophia is a gem. She very dedicated, passionate and hard-working. She works late when she needs to, she is resourceful and talented and creative. She's a rising star: definitely work with her while you can!!

Designing an office space that blended work and meeting areas. I run a hedge fund that recently began meeting with investors, requiring new office space that went beyond a bunch of computers and screens. Sophia helped create a blended office that merged the trading area with an enticing meeting space. Exactly what I needed!
